Early Years Foundation Stage (2 to 4 years)

The early years of your child’s education are important ones, and, as parents, you will want to ensure that they receive the very best start to establish a positive approach to learning. At KSM, we create a learning environment where children feel safe and secure to explore new concepts and ideas.

Our bright, modern classroom walls are full of our pupils’ arts and crafts, language-based literacy information, educational material related to topics being studied and we have an ever changing role play area which helps encourage and stimulate learning in a playful environment. Other facilities at KSM include a magnificent sports field, primary only playgrounds, reception only play area, a basketball court and swimming pool.

By the end of their time in Early Years children will have acquired most, if not all, of the skills and abilities in each of the seven areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.

Primary (5 to 11 years)

Our curriculum has been developed for more than a decade drawing from our global network of schools and is delivered in a context that is relevant to the needs of Philippine and international families in Manila. We do not focus on preparing for tests. Lessons are lively, challenging and provide pupils with many opportunities to think critically and independently. Success in examinations follows naturally from this approach.

KSM teachers strive to create an atmosphere that fosters enthusiasm for learning and promotes the personal development of each child. Pupils quickly learn the value of academic achievement, but they are also encouraged to take a broader view of success. Every member of the school, young or old, is expected to contribute to the welfare of the school community. Leadership and initiative are encouraged and celebrated.

Small class sizes and a low student to teacher ratio mean that each child can receive the support and attention required to make excellent progress. Specialist teachers, professional musicians and coaches help ensure a broad education of quality for our pupils.

But don’t just take our word for it, come and join us for an Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary Open Morning on 27 January where you will be able to see the facilities and teaching style for yourself.
